Alex specializes in working with students aspiring to attain the highest grades/scores in order to be accepted into the most competitive colleges. He also works well and has achieved great success with students who need significant improvement and who are willing to work very hard to complete a significant amount of work outside of the actual tutoring sessions. He is very adept at both nurturing students who need emotional support and encouraging highly-motivated students to reach and exceed their expectations.

          Alex graduated from MIT with a B.S. and M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering in 1986 and 1987 respectively. He also earned an MBA from UMass Lowell in 1993. Prior to his tutoring career, he worked for more than ten years in the chemical industry, specifically in research development management and technical product management. He shared patents with IBM Research in a joint-developmental effort while he was working to serve the semi-conductor industry. Later, he obtained his teaching certification and worked as a high school chemistry and math teacher.

          For more than 18 years, Alex has tutored countless students and has amassed more than 20,000 hours of tutoring experience. Many of his students have scored at or near perfect levels on standardized tests. Most of his AP students have earned a perfect “5’s” on each of their AP exams. His expertise includes high school and AP levels in Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics. He is able to effectively tutor students in many high school subjects, as well as the SAT, ACT, SAT II and AP exams. You will not find another tutor who is equal to him in these areas!
